Let’s Get Blogging!

“Blog” is an abbreviated version of “weblog,” which is a term used to describe web sites that maintain an ongoing chronicle of information. A blog is a frequently updated, personal website featuring diary-type commentary.

For me, my blog is my home on the Internet. It’s where I direct my traffic to so that people can read my articles, view my videos, see my opportunities, etc. all on one place. It’s where they can get to know me better and the various businesses that I am involved with on the internet.

Most people shy away from creating blogs because they are unsure what to write about or they do not have the time to maintain it. But, honestly, the only hard part about having a blog, is setting it all up. Once it’s set up, you good to go. At that point, it’s a matter of maintaining it and adding blog posts at least once or twice a week. However, the more you blog, the better your ranking with the search engines because the search engines love blogs.

The most popular blog services are Blogger and WordPress. I have an account on both, but my main one that I use is through WordPress.

They are both free to use, but I would recommend hosting your own blog on your own server. I know quite a few people that have gotten their accounts shut down do to certain posts or posting too many banners. If you host your own blog then you can do what you want with your blog.

There are also several free templates to choose from. You can find some great templates on WordPress.org. The template that I use is called Flexibility Theme and it’s exactly what it says… FLEXIBLE and super easy to use….and it’s FREE!

If you are going to go with hosting your own blog, I would recommend that you use Hostgator, which is what I use. But, it’s really up to you. Hostgator is only $9.97 a month for unlimited sites.

Finally, to answer your question about what to post in your blog? It’s simple…. EVERYTHING related to your business, niche (tips, articles, videos, banners)…EVERYTHING. Once you get rolling, you will be addicted…lol
