If you are new to online marketing, chances are you are probably wondering what is a lead capture page (also know as a Squeeze Page), and why it’s so important for your online business.
A Lead capture page is simply a one page website that is designed to point out the important key factors of your product or service as well as to entice your “lead” to enter their information in the form that you post on your page. Once the person enters his or her name and email address into the form you now have what is called a lead. This person has taken the time to view your lead page and is interested in learning more.
Lead capture pages can come in all sizes and shapes, but the best performing lead pages are the ones that are short and get right to the point. Most people will only stay on a website for a few seconds so its important your page jumps out and makes the person reading it request more information.
So why is it so important to use a lead capture page?
I am sure by now you heard that the money is in the list, and people are not lying when they say that. You must build an email list if you wish to make a good deal of money online.
The quickest and easiest way to do this is to build a lead capture page and have people enter in their name and email address requesting more information. This works, because those who fill out your lead page form are called targeted leads, and have a very good chance of joining or buying something from you.
One other important thing you will need to go along with your lead capture page is called an auto responder (as mentioned above. This will allow you to easily follow up with the people who fill out their names and emails on your lead page.
There are many autoresponder services out there for you to choose from, but the two that most marketers use are Aweber and GetResponse. I personally use Aweber because it’s easier to use than GetResponse.
Now let’s talk about the components of your Lead Captures page…
The purpose of capturing your leads contact information is so that you can contact this person repeatedly via email to provide information specific to his interests and targeted offers.
There are four components that you need to address when creating a capture page. These components must be based around the types of people that are going to be reading your capture page and they are as follows:
Component #1: THE CONTENT
When writing your content for your lead capture page, you have to make sure that you have four very important learning styles covered. These learning styles are basically to cover the types of personalities of the people that will land on your page. They are as follows:
1. The WHY? Person - This person wants to know why they should optin to your list. These are the people that are looking for the answers to their questions. Let them know why they should purchase your product or service.
2. The WHAT? Person - This person wants to know the theory behind your product or service. They want to know the history and the science. They are the observers.
3. The HOW? Person - This person wants to know how they are going to benefit from opting into your list. They want to know the exact, step by step recipe that they will receive.
4. The WHAT IF? Person - This is the person that always wonders “what if”. These are the entrepreneurs, the action takers. These are the people that are most likely to join or buy from you.
Component #2: THE BONUS OR INCENTIVE
If you offer something for free, such as a free report or a free product, then you are likely to get more people to optin to your list.
The free report does not have to be long, but since it’s free, you can optimize it and include some affiliate links in it that are relevant to your information. If they choose to buy, then you get commissions.
Component #3 THE AUTORESPONDER
An autoresponder will follow up with your prospects that optin to your list automatically. Can you imagine what this can do for your business? When someone requests your information, you will look like a pro as if you were on top of your business 24 hours a day. All you have to do is set it up one time, and it will do the work for you.
Once you have your autresponder service set up, you need to create a campaign for the people that will be opting into your list.
The first message should be a welcome/thank you email. The following emails should go out in the sequence that you set up and the emails should be relevant to the information that they opted in for.
When you set up your account, be sure to set up your signature and in your signature you can direct people back to your blog, social networks and a couple of affiliate products (again, if they buy, you can potentially earn a commission). This is call monetizing your email campaigns.
Whichever service you decide to go with, they have video tutorials to help you get started.
TIP: I would highly suggest that you add a video of yourself on your capture page. I’ve tested not having a video or photo vs having one and the results for having a video of myself was much higher. We will talk about videos later on.
If you hav your own business and want to start creating lead capture pages and really do not know how, I would suggest that you go with Flexsqueeze for WP vs. using a free service to create your pages. The search engines LOVE blogs, so creating your capture page on a WP blog is ideal so that you will get ranked in the search engines better.
I personally use Flexsqueeze for mostly all of my capture pages. It’s super simple and super easy to use. However, you need to host it on your own server. There are several affordable hosting websites that you can use. The one that I use is Hostgator.com. It’s $9.95 a month for the “baby” service and you can host as many sites as you want on there.
Here are some samples of the pages that I’ve created with Flexsqueeze:

And it usually takes me a few hours (about 2 to 4 hours) to set up my page with all the content and video.
Ask me about my Wordpress Squeezepage Setup Training Webinars if you need help.
If you are in the Network Marketing/Direct Sales industry, you can easily use the FlexSqueeze too. But, I would highly recommend that you check out MLM Lead System Pro, which is what I use for my network marketing/direct sales business and it converts really well. It’s a plug and play system specifically designed for network marketers/direct sellers. PLUS, you can start earning upfront and residual income from the people that you get into the system… so YES, naturally, if you become a member, I get $15 residual commissions from you (SMILE). But, none the less, its a GREAT service. I absolutely LOVE them.
